Problem

The project aimed to visually represent well-known machines in a way that goes beyond technical or literal depiction. The challenge was to translate complex mechanical objects into clear, visually engaging compositions that communicate their identity and significance while remaining accessible and aesthetically strong.

Instead of relying on detailed realism, the design needed to simplify forms and focus on recognizable features, creating a balance between accuracy and visual clarity. The goal was to make machines feel iconic, not complicated.

Target Audience

  • People interested in design, technology, and industrial objects

  • Viewers who appreciate poster design and simplified visual communication

  • Creative audiences drawn to minimal, structured, and conceptual representations

  • Individuals who enjoy seeing familiar objects reinterpreted through graphic design systems

Concept

The concept centers on reducing machines to their most essential visual elements to highlight what makes them recognizable and iconic.

Key ideas include:

  • Simplification and abstraction — stripping machines down to core shapes and components

  • Structured composition — using grids and alignment to create order and clarity

  • Focus on form and function — emphasizing key features that define each machine

  • Consistency across a series — ensuring each poster feels part of a unified system

The result is a visual language that transforms complex machinery into clean, bold, and easily readable graphics.

Solution

To bring the concept to life, the project delivered:

  • A series of posters that each represent a different iconic machine

  • Simplified graphic illustrations that highlight key structural elements

  • A consistent layout system that unifies the series visually

  • Balanced use of typography and imagery to support clarity and recognition

Every design decision — from simplification to layout — works to make each machine feel instantly recognizable, visually striking, and easy to understand, turning technical subjects into compelling graphic compositions.
