PROBLEM
The challenge was to develop a visual identity and packaging system for a candle brand that goes beyond basic product design — it needed to evoke place, memory, and sensory experience. The project sought to express how scent embodies cultural and natural heritage, making each candle feel like an emotional journey rather than just a household item.
Target Audience
People who enjoy luxury or boutique lifestyle goods with emotional and cultural depth.
Consumers who appreciate design-forward home decor and sensory experiences.
Individuals drawn to fragrances that evoke memory and narrative rather than just scent.
This audience includes young adults to mid-age buyers who prioritize authenticity, meaning, and aesthetic expression in their purchases — especially in personal ritual products.
Concept
The core idea of Terra Lume is “scents of the soul, stories of the earth.” Every candle in the range draws inspiration from a country’s iconic flora or fruit — for example, cherry blossoms from Japan or rose petals from Colombia. This approach aims to connect fragrance with geography, memory, and emotional resonance through visual language.
The concept focuses on:
Translating natural elements into visual motifs and packaging.
Creating a brand that visually communicates both place and mood.
Representing intangible sensory experiences (like scent) through illustration and colour.
To address the problem and bring the concept to life, the project delivered:
